Which Services are Provided Through Regent Insurance?
As mentioned above, Regent provides a range of short term insurance options in the fields of life, vehicle, personal, business, group, commercial and household insurance.
Regent Household Insurance
Regent Insurance do not offer a household contents only insurance option. They have what they call a Domestic Insurance policy instead, which covers not only household contents from loss, theft or accidental damage, but also covers your home itself as well as vehicles parked on your property and personal liability. For some insurance shoppers this policy will therefore not be suitable, since many people may already have home insurance, for example. However, if you need a comprehensive household insurance policy, then the Domestic Insurance policy has the following features:
- Covers food in refrigerators and freezes that spoils during a power outage;
- Covers keys and personal documents;
- Covers garden equipment as well as washing hung on a washing line;
- Covers television sets and glass;
- Covers credit cards and bank cards;
- Covers loss of rent if necessary;
- Covers both accidental damage and accidental death;
- Regent Insurance can provide you with security guards to safely guard your home in the event that you suffer a break in and need time to re-secure your property.
The Regent Insurance website does not provide any information about premiums or coverage amounts. We assume, however, that your coverage amount depends on the value of the property that you wish to insure as it does with most other insurance companies.
What Do Customers Think About Regent Insurance?
Using hellopeter.com, the website that lets consumers review service providers, we found 209 reports concerning Regent Insurance from the last year. 175 of these reports were complaints, which gives Regent an 84% negative rating. Many of these complaints were about the same issues: namely poor customer service, claims not being filled, or long waiting times for claims to be accepted. Regent representatives have responded to all but the most recent of these reviews, but even so, the company should consider how they treat their customers. An 84% negative rating is hardly encouraging information for anyone thinking about buying insurance.
Is the Regent Insurance Website User Friendly?
Initially, we liked that the Regent Insurance website divided policies up into different areas, meaning that we could quickly jump to the page that we wanted. However, once we started reading through policy information we found that it wasn't as comprehensive as we would like to see. Regent only provides the large Domestic policy, but the information on their page said nothing about vehicle coverage other than mentioning that it was included, for example. To be fair though, there weren't many technical household insurance terms and definitions used, so pages were easy to read. Another thing that we disliked was that the Regent website automatically goes back to its home page when you try to open another page in a new tab. This is a minor irritation, but it does make the user experience a bit more frustrating, as well as making it time consuming to compare different policies.
Regent Insurance in a Nutshell
If you're looking for household insurance, then Regent Insurance provides a very comprehensive policy, however that policy might be too comprehensive for some shoppers, since it covers vehicle and building insurance as well as just contents insurance. Those looking to buy all kinds of policy though may profit from getting just one insurance policy rather than three separate ones. Unfortunately, customer reviews for Regent Insurance aren't great, with the company getting an 84% negative rating. We must remember that customers are more likely to report bad experiences than good ones though. In general, we always recommend that you get several quotes before deciding which company to go with. If you click on the banner above then you can get up to 9 insurance quotes for free. It takes just a few moments, and will definitely help you choose the right policy for you.
